The crypto market extended its downturn for a third straight day, with most major assets sliding between 2% and 7% over the past 24 hours. Layer-2 tokens were hit hardest, plunging 7.13% as Starknet collapsed 21% and SOON tumbled over 30%, while MOVE remained one of the few bright spots with a 2.7% gain. Bitcoin slipped 5.8% to fall below $90,000, effectively wiping out its year-to-date gains, while Ethereum briefly dipped under the $3,000 mark. Despite the broader weakness, pockets of strength emerged: ICP surged more than 16%, HYPE climbed 4%, and Filecoin added 4%. Sectors such as DeFi, CeFi, AI, and Meme also saw declines, although KAITO, UNI, and VELO bucked the trend. Overall, 80 of the top 100 cryptocurrencies outperformed BTC, signaling a rotation even amid the market-wide pullback.
